Abstract

Radiography/Medical Radiation Sciences requires a specific body of knowledge acquired through formal education, training and research and commands specific skills and competences to achieve the required professional recognition. However, in many countries around the world, Radiography/Medical Radiation Sciences is not yet recognised as a profession but as a semi-profession, since radiographers are seen as having poor autonomy, reduced input in clinical decision making and minimal responsibilities [1,2].
