Abstract

This article performs a historical review of Youth and Adult Education and a critical analysis of the permanence and resistance of students from the Technical Course in Community Health Agents at PROEJA of the Federal Institute of the Southeast of Minas Gerais - Campus Rio Pomba (2008-2013). In the research, analysis of documents, legislation and local archives, semi-structured interviews and analysis of empirical material from oral history were carried out. We conclude that students return to school in search of education and personal and professional advancement.
