Abstract

Since Motorola started to promote “Six-Sigma” in 1987, many internationally prestigious large enterprises including Allied Signal, GE, and 3M have put it into practice and enhanced it. Because this “Six-Sigma” project brought these enterprises such outstanding financial performances that other enterprises started to have obsessions with the benefit and effect of introducing Six-Sigma and then started to follow the trend. As a result, it has become the new trend of management in the 21st century. In this research, Performance Evaluation Matrix, Control Chart, Fuzzy Theory and AHP are integrated to construct a systematic model of Self-assessment for the enterprises to do Self-diagnosis of the Six-Sigma performance within the enterprise, and further, to find out the part needs to be improved, so as to accord with corresponding strategies to get the best solution. This system of Performance Evaluation and Improvement Strategy enables the enterprises promoting Six Sigma to do self-diagnosis and to find the failure items and the major reason for the failure rapidly. As a result, decision makers can focus on the improvement, and finally, to enhance the Six-Sigma performance in enterprises.
