Abstract

Photodermatoses in children include a wide array of conditions. As in adults, photosensitivity disorders in children can be classified into four main categories: immunologically mediated photodermatoses, drug-induced photosensitivity, hereditary photodermatoses, and photoaggravated dermatoses. The diagnosis is made based on a detailed history of the symptoms and physical examination. The dermatological examination should include careful observation of the distribution and morphology of lesions. Here, we present a case of a 6-year-old boy with a recurrent vesicular eruption on sun-exposed skin areas.KeywordsHydroa vacciniformeHydroavacciniforme-like lymphomaPhotodermatosisPhotosensitivityChildrenPrurigo aestivalisEpstein Barr virus
