Q. 10 This study deals with bacteriologic and pathologic observations on resected pulmonary specimens from 57 patients who were treated (1) with combined streptomycin and isoniazid throughout a long term, or (2) with large doses of streptomycin for a short term and isoniazid for a long term. The frequencies of atypical histologic alterations and of endog­ enous spread of pulmonary tuberculosis observed in the one form of therapy are compared with those observed in the other regimen. The changes observed during the healing of cavities in the open state are described as are the circumstances under which such healing occurred. MATERIAL AND METHODS
