Abstract

This article discusses a form of Amun unknown outside Deir el-Medina and attested by only one document, stela BM EA 812, which has been published but lacks detailed study. The name of this exceptional form of Amun has been read incorrectly and confused with another more classical epithet. Even if some doubts persist concerning the translation and the understanding of this designation, it appears that it refers to a particular local form of Amun probably honoured in one of the numerous chapelles de confrérie of the village.
