Abstract
Average multiplicities and multiplicity distributions in fixed rapidity windows are calculated for proton-nucleus collisions. A geometrical wounded nucleon model is used for the calculation, whose only input comes from the data of proton-proton collisions. Agreements with the proton-nucleus data are good in the forward hemisphere and for the small rapidity intervals in the backward hemisphere, but not so good for large rapidities in the backward hemisphere.
