Abstract
From the research group “Violence, Body, and Language”, linked to the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ/BR), this paper tackles the scientist's role in contemporaneity, among excesses and limits faced with the real. We treat the subject's place in his/her split facing different discursive formations. Then, the positions of governing, educating, and analyzing are approached in the radicalism of their impossibility in the culture. Owing to this analysis, we notice how the current discontent, along with the pairing science x capitalism, may have in the scientist (savant) one of the clearest examples of his/her passion.
