Abstract

Abstract Partly crosslinked poly(propylene carbonate) (pc-PPC) is directly prepared by terpolymerization of CO2 and propylene oxide using multifunctional triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC). It is thermoplastic and exhibits significantly enhanced properties with the 5% weight-loss degradation temperature of 271 °C and the tensile strength of 37.4 MPa, along with good toughness with elongation at break of 446%. These findings may develop a facile and effective way to ensure that PPC can be melt-processed without decomposition and used as a structural material.
