Abstract
Cyclides have attracted the interest of researchers in recent years. This family of surfaces includes all the surfaces conventionally used in computer aided design of mechanical parts. They have been found very useful in defining blends and support naturally a piecewise approach to surface design. To make these properties available in an interactive design environment, a NURBS (Non Uniform Rational B-Splines) representation for cyclides has been developed, enlarging in a consistent way the capabilities of our NURBS modeler.
