Abstract
A numerical modelling protocol for the formation of wave-induced littoral currents is described. The method comprised the synthesis of a steady-state wave transformation program driving a hydrodynamic program. The model was validated with field measurements of bathymetry, waves and currents obtained over a six hour period from a small, but energetic rip on Narrabeen Beach, Sydney.
