Abstract

In this paper the software of Solar Sell Capacitance Simulator (SCAPS) is used to study the performance of ZnO:Al /Zn1-xMgxO/CuxO solar cells. As an absorber layer are used CuO and Cu2O compounds. The photovoltaic parameters have been calculated for the samples prepared at different deposition conditions (layer thickness, magnesium concentration in window layer). Simulated current–voltage curves allow to determinate the optimal deposition conditions. As a result of the numerical simulation there were determined the optimal solar cells layers fabrication parameters, which provide their maximal solar energy conversion efficiency. They are: in case of CuO/ZMO/AZO structure - fill-factor is 76.46 %, photo-conversion efficiency is 23.89 %; in case of Cu2O/ZMO/AZO structure – fill-factor is 69.44 %, photo-conversion efficiency is 9.63 %, respectively.
