Abstract
Combining motion analysis of granular material by Distinct Element Method (DEM) and magnetic field analysis by Boundary Element Method (BEM), a simulation program for analyzing carrier particle behavior on Magnetic Roll (MGR) in a developer unit is developed. Calculation load for magnetic field analysis is reduced very much by using BEM. Therefore we can calculate magnetic flux density distribution on carrier particle surface in detail and renewal the magnetic field according to carrier particle configuration. Consequently, we attain to simulating the formation and the behavior of magnetic brush.
