Abstract

Recently we developed a numerical technique for calculating elastothermodynamic damping for a variety of planar problems where the heat conduction may occur in both in-plane directions.Using this technique, we present a numerical solution to a more realistic model of a fiber-reinforced metal-matrix composites(MMC):a circular fiber embedded in a square matrix; for brevety, we will refer to it as the square matrix model
