Abstract
This paper presents an absorber having double negative metamaterial characteristics. A metamaterial unit cell is constructed by a circular split ring resonator (CSRR). The unit cell is composed of two concentric circular split rings imprinted on a metal-backed dielectric substrate. The electromagnetic field distributions and surface current plots have been illustrated to analyze the absorption mechanism of the proposed structure. The simulated results show the maximum absorption of around 95%.
