Abstract
A detector was developed to image large objects with neutral particles by a scanning technique. Hard X-rays are detected using a Tantalum converter plane placed at a grazing angle of 1 degree in respect to the incoming particles. The resulting electrons are detected by two planes of wires, one on each side of the converter plane. The detection efficiency is -- 30% for 400 keV ..gamma.. rays. Imaging of various objects was performed. Image resolution is better than 5 mm.
