Abstract
A novel Ti–3Al–5V–5Mo alloy with hierarchical submicron α precipitates and nanoscale α′ precipitates was developed. The combined strengthening effect of dislocation accumulation and back stress enhancing induced by the hierarchical α/α′ phases resulted in an ultra-high tensile strength of 1585 MPa, while the plastically deformable α precipitates helped maintain a moderate plasticity.
