Abstract

A novel coordination polymer [Cd2(PDA)2(OMTMB)(H2O)2]n (H2PDA = benzene-1,3-diacetic acid, OMTMB = 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene) has been synthesized and characterized by IR spectra, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of the title complex shows a novel two dimensional framework based on one-dimensional double-chains [Cd2(PDA)2]n containing 40-membered rings. Moreover, the layers are connected by two types of hydrogen bonds (O–H···O and C–H···O) and by C–H···π and O–H···π interactions to form a three-dimensional supramolecular structure. The thermal stability and photoluminescent property of the title complex have been investigated.
