Abstract
A novel design procedure of two-degree -of-freedom (2DOF) PID regulator for typical integrator and dead time process is proposed based on IMC theory in this paper. By approximating the dead time of the controlled system with two-order Pade formula, a new IMC tuning method of two-degree-of-freedom PID regulator for typical integrator and dead time process is obtained. Better dynamic response performance of both the command tracking and the disturbance rejection characteristics can be achieved simultaneously. The simulated results demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed PID regulator.
