Abstract

For the fuzziness and uncertainty of performance evaluation of English Language teaching, crisp number is not suitable to express the fuzzy nature of evaluation attributes. Linguistic terms are often used to provide the evaluation values in similar above-mentioned decision-making problems. This paper develops a novel evaluation method for the evaluation of English language teaching with the help of triangular fuzzy numbers for substituting linguistic terms, because the calculation of linguistic terms is usually complex. A new method of performance evaluation is proposed for English language teaching. Finally, a numerical example for evaluating English language teaching is given to illustrate demonstrate the feasibility and practicability of the proposed method.
