Abstract

A 29-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 1001, presented with irregular vaginal bleeding since 7 weeks 2 days and a serum β-human chorionic gonadotropin level of 3000 mIU/mL. The patient had undergone 2 open abdominal surgeries for necrotizing pancreatitis 4 years ago. Abdominal and bimanual examinations revealed an inverted, U-shaped surgical scar from a previous surgery (Fig. 1) and a normal size uterus without any tenderness or pain.
