Abstract

Removal of foreign and loose bodies form the hip joint classically involves arthroscopic approaches or surgical dislocation of the hip. However, traumatic injuries associated with loose or foreign bodies are often best treated via an anterior approach. Retrieving intra-articular foreign bodies through an anterior approach can be challenging even for the most experienced surgeon. We describe 2 cases of hip intra-articular foreign body removal through an anterior approach utilizing a Satinsky vascular clamp under fluoroscopic guidance.
