Abstract

Iatrogenic calcar cracks when inserting uncemented arthroplasty stems are usually treated by stem removal and trochanteric wiring. The authors propose a novel method using a proprietary twin-wire cerclage system which confers potential benefits over a traditional single wire technique to treat this surgical problem.
