Abstract

The polymer [SiH(Ph)-C≡C-Ph-C≡C] n was obtained by dehydrogenative coupling polymerization between phenyl silane and m-diethynylbenzene in the presence of alkaline earth metal oxides. After thermal curing the resulting polymer was found to have a 5% mass loss temperature of 860°c and a residue of 94% at 1000°C under argon
