Abstract

In this paper, a novel stress measurement system using electrocardiograph (ECG) in massage chairs is presented. Unlike most of the existing stress monitoring systems, the proposed ECG monitoring system consists of handhold electrodes. We propose two algorithms to reduce main problems of dry and noncontact electrodes from the coupling between the skin and electrodes. Those algorithms are thresholding method based on the median absolute deviation for R-peak detection and reconstruction of missing data using K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm. We show experimental results for the developed stress measurement system.
