Abstract

Calcium niobium lithium gallium garnet (Ca3Nb1.775Li0.275Ga2.95O12) has been synthesized by a simple aqueous sol-gel route. The obtained monophasic Ca3Nb1.775Li0.275Ga2.95O12 samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The XRD patterns of materials annealed at 800 °C showed the formation of garnet phase with a cubic crystal symmetry. The calculated lattice parameter was 12.481 (5) Å. The formation of nanocrystalline nature of Ca3Nb1.775Li0.275Ga2.95O12 was proved by SEM measurements.
