Abstract

Communication between primary and secondary side controllers is essential in practical applications of inductive power transfer (IPT) systems, which is generally realized by specific modules. However, such additional components increases the cost and the volume of the receiver. Therefore, this paper develops a novel simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technique through a single-switch active receiver. The desired output voltage can be obtained by regulating the duty ratio of secondary side switch, and the information can be transmitted to the primary side by controlling the frequency of that switch. The proposed receiver advances in cost reduction, simple design, and easy realization of information exchange and power regulation. Experimental results are added to verify the proposed system.
