Abstract

The mechanisms to maintain redundancy are essential to distributed data storage in Unattended Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs). To address this challenge, we proposed a novel hybrid scheme, which takes the advantages of both Erasure Codes (EC) and Self-repairing Codes (SRC) to guarantee better security on data storage and redundancy maintenance, and adapt an enhanced location-based pair-wise keys establishment based on bivariate polynomials. Detailed security analysis shows the superiority of the proposed scheme in comparison with EC based and original SRC based schemes, in both distributed data storage and redundancy maintenance. To deal with the space correlation issue, we further proposed a location-based repairing scheme to enhance the security. Numerical example shows the extended version has strong resistance against Mobile Adversary and is practical for UWSNs
