Abstract

Background and Objectives: Growth hormone (GH)-secreting pituitary adenomas account for up to 20% of all pituitary adenomas. Long-term biochemical remission following surgery is achieved in ~70% of the patients. Several clinical predictors, including GH levels and radiological characteristics of the adenoma, have been associated with a lower surgical remission rate in the literature. The objective of our study was to identify discrete preoperative factors that most strongly predict biochemical remission, and combine these factors to develop a simple, clinically useful predictive score.
