Abstract

To date, Cerenkov luminescence tomography (CLT), as a new supplement for positron emission tomography, has become an effective means for the detection of tumor in human body. However, the application of CLT is still severely constrained by the ill-posedness of CLT derived from strong scattering effect and absorbing effect. To our knowledge, the reconstruction result of CLT is still not ideal, especially for the restoration of the optical source boundary. Therefore, a novel adaptive edge-preserving smoothing regularization strategy for robust reconstruction of CLT was proposed in this paper. In vivo experiments were conducted to validate the efficient of proposed strategy. The result showed that proposed method had good performance of location precision and shape restoration for reconstruction of CLT. We believe this study can develop the application of CLT in clinic in the future.
