Abstract

In this study, we reported a novel oxazole-based NIR probe for the detection of Cu2+ and S2− ions sequentially in buffer solution. The probe showed a "turn-off" fluorescent response towards Cu2+ ion with a large Stokes’ shift, accompanied with the solution color changes from bright red to colorless. The bonding mechanism was proposed based on by fluorescent and UV-Vis titrations, 1H NMR titrations and theoretical calculation studies. Moreover, the resulting ISOP-Cu2+ complex could detect S2− by "turn-on" fluorescent response. Furthermore, the probe has been successfully used in liquid colorimetry and solid filter paper colorimetry, as well as live cell imaging.
