Abstract

Direct power control of the power electronic converter has been well developed. It is simple and has excellent steady state and transient performance. However, further developments are still under investigation for applications in the field of DFIG wind power system. This paper presents a novel predictive direct power control (PDPC) strategy based on Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) for DFIG, which has less dependence on motor parameters than the DPC traditional strategy. In order to improve the dynamic response speed of ADRC, the first-order ADRC is adopted and designed in this paper. Simulation studies for the control strategy are carried out for 1.5-MW DFIG in MATLAB/Simulink environment. The results of this method are compared with the traditional PDPC strategy. Comparisons show that the performance of the proposed PDPC strategy based on ADRC is superior to the traditional PDPC strategy.
