Abstract

In this paper, a novel polyanion-type material Cr2(MoO4)3 was synthesized and used as a high-rate electrode for rechargeable Li-ion batteries for the first time. The interconnected Cr2(MoO4)3 nanoparticles were prepared by a simple precipitation method and exhibited a superior high-rate capability (100 mAh g−1 at 20 °C) and a good cyclability (at 20 °C with a high retention of 80% after 500 cycles). These results show the appearance of a new electrode material for high-power batteries.
