Abstract

A novel planar frequency diverse array (FDA) design approach to the solution of far-field wireless power transmission (WPT) problem is presented and discussed in this work. The introduced planar FDA design approach, based on nonlinear frequency offsets and time-modulated weights, allows focusing the energy over a defined 3D region for far-field WPT applications which is not achievable with classical phased array technology. The validity of the proposed approach is demonstrated by means of a representative design example.
