A novel perturbative-variational approach and its application to the impurity states in anisotropic crystals-A comment

Abstract

It is pointed out that the approach of Lee et al. (see ibid., vol.15, p.L469, 1982) for the computation of the ground state energies of shallow donors in Si and Ge is similar to a spherical band approximation in the light of an earlier work by Tefft (see Bull. Am. Phys. Soc., vol.13, p.710, 1968).
