Abstract
A new organic-inorganic hybrid complex, (NH4)7(H2en)7[{Cu(en)2}(VMo6O24)][{Cu(en)2}(Mo7O24)2]·14H2O (1) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Compound 1 exhibits a 2D layered framework constructed from the 1D {Cu(en)2VMo6O24}n chains and dimeric {Cu(en)2(Mo7O24)2} subunits joined together via hydrogen bonded interactions, which represents the first example coexisting with Anderson-type [VMo6O24]7- and [Mo7O24]6- anions in the same crystal structure. Electrochemical experiments indicate that 1-CPE exhibits the characteristic multi-electron redox processes ascribed to MoVI centers, and shows good electrocatalytic activity for nitrite reduction. The photophysical investigation reveals that compound 1 has the band gap value at 2.86 eV and possesses the characteristic of n-type semiconductor, which is indicative of semiconductor material.
