Abstract

The refractive index is an important parameter to reflect the optical properties of materials, and there is a certain relationship between the component content of material and its refractive index. The Newton mixing rule can obtain the refractive indices of mixture under a certain mixed gradient. Thus, in this work we proposed a new kind of optical method for component content measurement of multivariate mixture based on the refractive index spectra, namely, the M-D-iPLS-0.01 model. We calculated the refractive indices of samples by the particle swarm double-thickness transmittance method (PTT) in the band range from 0.302 μm to 0.9 μm. With the mixture of distilled water and ethanol as the research objects, the prediction ability of the model was investigated, and the results show that the M-D-iPLS-0.01 model is feasible for quantitative optical analysis of multivariate mixture.
