Abstract

AbstractIn this letter, a highly miniaturizedal‐band frequency selective surface (FSS) is designed and experimentally verified. The proposed structure has orthogonally meandered metallic strips with an opening at one point in the loop. This single sided FSS operates at 1.23 and 3.3 GHz with a compact unit cell size dimension of 0.033λ0 × 0.033λ0 × 0.003λ0 where λ0 stands for the free space wavelength at the lower resonating frequency. Parametric and circuit analyses of the formulated structure has been carried out to have a comprehensive understanding of the model. The structure has stable resonance for TE and TM polarizations at various incident angles. The presented FSS is fabricated and measured. A good similitude between the simulation and measurement has been obtained.
