Abstract

This paper presents an analysis of the polarimetric detection algorithms in simultaneous polarimetric radar. The classical polarimetric detection performance of the optimal polarimetric detector (OPD), the polarimetric whitening filter (PWF), the Polarimetric Matched Filter (PMF) and Span Detection are summarized under the reciprocity. However, with consideration of the influence of the spatial polarization characteristics of antenna, a novel nonreciprocal polarimetric detector under nonreciprocity is proposed. Through the detection performance comparison of stable target in Gaussian noise, nonreciprocal algorithm yields better detection performance than OPD.
