Abstract

The main research of this paper concerns a novel MMW (millimeter wave) bandpass filter design in one particular waveguide bend, at Ka band, aided by computer. This novel filter makes use of one waveguide bend that is used in communications and radar systems as connectors. The model of several inductive strips inserted in the middle of a waveguide, parallel to the E plane, is most suitable for a waveguide bend structure. The design of this filter refers to the design theory of an E-plane bandpass filter in one straight waveguide, while it is more complex because of the bend structure. The calculation and analysis is aided by computer. The miniature design costs less space, improves the system characteristics, and fulfils engineering application and mass production requirements.
