Abstract

A novel microstrip-fed slot-coupled dual-stacked self-complementary patch antenna is designed and presented. Measured results show that the impedance bandwidth of the self-complementary patch antenna is wider than a conventional microstrip-fed slot-coupled dual-stacked patch antenna. Radiation patterns show front-to-back ratios of better then 20 dB and low cross-polarization levels for the self-complementary patch antenna as compared to the conventional patch antenna. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
