Abstract
An alternative method of wastewater recycle in coal-gasification process was proposed and evaluated. The experiment was performed using lab-scale entrained-flow reactor system to study thermal degradation of COD and NH3-N contained in wastewater with the variant of temperature and reaction atmosphere. The results showed that reaction temperature has a significant effect on COD and NH3-N degradation, and degradation efficiency is obviously increased with temperature in the range of 400~1000 °C. The degradation efficiency of COD and NH3-N in different atmospheres ranks: oxidative > inert > reductive. The practical operation can meet the requirement to obtain high degradation efficiencies and the cost of facility reconfiguration will be reduced.
