Abstract
With the advancement of Smart Grid and Distributed Generation, the complications of power transfer over long distances have been reduced as the need and independent energy production is met. Here a technique of analysing the location of a distributed generation in a distribution system of a grid is applied based on Complex Network theory. The metric of Electrical Centrality is the approach used in differentiating the physical and electrical topological structure. Zbus represents the electrical strength of connection of every node to every other node in the network and hence this Zbus matrix represents the more electrically central nodes which signify for best location for distributed generation in a distribution system by an exhaustive search. We obtain results for an 85 node radial distribution systems. The location of Distributed Generators also makes overall system losses very small and successfully corrects voltage profile.
