Abstract
Partial Shading Condition (PSC) significantly reduce the maximum power output of Photovoltaic (PV) array. There are different techniques to mitigate partial shading problem in PV arrays. One of the best technique to mitigate power losses due to PSC is “Reconfiguration of PV modules” without changing electrical connection. This paper proposes a Magic-Square technique as a one-time solution for any PSC, to increase the power output of the PV array. In this technique, the physical location of PV modules are rearranged based on Magic-Square puzzle without changing electrical connections. In the end, the performance of the proposed Magic-Square has been investigated with the existing SuDoKu and Optimal-SuDoKu patterns with all possible shading conditions. The performance of the proposed technique is studied with Global maximum power point (GMPP), Mismatch power loss (MPL), Fill-Factor (FF) and Efficiency(η) indices.
