Abstract

This paper proposes a novel Medium Access Control scheme for wireless multi-hop Mesh networks using network-aware to adaptively detect the MAC maximum retransmission count and reduce collision probability of wireless channel. The proposed scheme can differentiate packet loss causes for wireless link by means of environment information and adjust the maximum retransmission count of MAC adaptively based on packet loss discrimination strategy of wireless errors or congestion losses. It is shown from the simulation results in different network topology environments, the proposed scheme can provide better utilization of the network bandwidth and improve effectiveness of wireless packet loss control.
