Abstract

In this paper, an automated design methodology that addresses power management of analog blocks is proposed. This method focuses on automatic determination of design parameters in analog blocks, under specific power constraints. This methodology is based on analog circuits' mathematical models. These models are generated using a Design Of Experiment (DOE) technique. The DOE technique takes as input electrical simulation results of a given circuit with different component geometries. DOE generates polynomial equations of the circuits' outputs including the circuit consumption currents. Using these equations and according to a given design specifications, the methodology provides the most suitable design parameter values to minimize the power consumption.
