Abstract

A double doped Eu-Tb metal-organic frameworks Eu0.5Tb1(btc)1.5 was synthesized by coprecipitation with H3btc as ligand. By screening 15 organic compounds and 9 pesticides, Eu0.5Tb1(btc)1.5 presents excellent sensitivity and selectivity to sense pyridine, methyl methacrylate, thidiazuron and uniconazole as a multi-responsive luminescent sensor. The detection limits of the four samples reached 10-6 mol/L, and the usage of pesticide on plant leaves can be detected by naked eyes based on luminescent sensing. The result of the cyclic experiment shows that Eu0.5Tb1(btc)1.5 has ideal reusability. More importantly, the mechanism of fluorescence quenching caused by competitive light absorption between Eu-Tb(btc) and organic compounds (or pesticide) was revealed. This work constructed a model of the sensing mechanism, which provides a possible application for the sensing of other organic substances.
