Abstract
Abstract From (+)-catechin under radical reaction with 2,2′-azobis(2-methylpropionitrile), a novel intramolecular cyclization product was isolated and its structure has been characterized to be 2,4′,5′,12-tetrahydroxy-9,10-benzo-7-oxatricyclo[6.2.2.01,6]dodeca-2,5,9-trien-4-one by the spectroscopic analyses and the chemical transformation.
