Abstract
As is well known that traditional cultural elements play an important role in the modern art design. In this paper, we demonstrate on how to effectively use traditional cultural elements in modern art design with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Particularly, we extract three types of traditional cultural elements, such as Chinese character, Auspicious pattern, and Folk Art. The most important problem of this work is how to determine the importance of each type of cultural element. Furthermore, the main innovation of this paper lies in that we utilize particle swarm optimization to solve the modern art design problem. We have utilized the proposed method in modern art design, and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively promote the quality of modern art design.
