Abstract
Integration of basic science and clinical knowledge has become a very important topic in medical education curriculum development [1, 2, 3, 4]. In the Molecular Medicine course, our program has developed a unique method of integrating clinical knowledge into a pure basic science course that is designed to prepare students for systems courses while retaining basic science knowledge. Course evaluations demonstrate that students feel this design is successful in promoting clinical relevance and integrating basic science and clinical topics. This is vital for the development of a basic science and clinical reasoning foundation to carry students forward into their clinical years.
